ABSTRACT
La Incontinencia Fecal que aparece en las mujeres, en edad media o geriátrica, es una condición que la discapacita y aísla socialmente. En ocasiones, es posible identificar la causa de la misma, como una cirugía del canal anal reciente, pero en la mayoría de las pacientes, no existe una causa inmediata que la relacione. En estos casos, es más difícil elegir la conducta terapéutica. La Manometría Anorrectal permite conocer las características del canal anal y el suelo pélvico, y ofrece los elementos para valorar la elección del tratamiento. En este trabajo, se estudia un grupo de mujeres incontinentes, mayores de 60 años y sin causa conocida de la enfermedad. El canal anal resultó hipotónico, con daño motor de ambos esfínteres y también un grupo importante presentó daño sensitivo.
Faecal Incontinence in women which appears in older age, its a condition that disabled and socially isolated. It is sometimes possible to identify the cause of it, as a recent surgery of the anal canal, but in most patients, there is no immediate cause that relates. In these cases it is more difficult to choose the therapeutic management. Anorectal manometry allows to know the characteristics of the anal canal and pelvic floor, and offers elements for assessing the choice of treatment. In this paper we study a group of incontinent women, aged 60 years and no known cause of the disease. The anal canal was hypotonic, with motility damage both sphincters and also an important group submitted sensory damage.
